Ron, a mechanical engineer, spent 35 years in the design of ultra-high reliability mechanical equipment for nuclear & aerospace. During his career he served as the lead investigator following the Challenger Space Shuttle accident & subsequently as the lead designer of sealing for the Advanced Solid Rocket motors. Years ago, in response to a heart attack, Ron needed a change in lifestyle that would allow him to stay active without overexerting himself. He set to the design table and the result? An ultra-light power-assisted bicycle to help in his recovery. These designs would eventually lead to the Pedal Easy bicycle – the lightest electric bike on the market. He still provides technical advice for the company and has so far logged himself at a lifetime mileage of 150,000 km.
